For those who appreciate high resolution 24/192 recordings with genuine musical content to >55KHZ, perhaps Soundkeeper Recordings most recent 24/192 recording of Markus Schwartz & Lakou Brooklyn - Kay Sa is well worth checking out. The microphones that Barry uses are only 1dB down at 40KHZ Barry is also a member here, and many of you will already have quite a few of his very well known recordings from his time at Atlantic Records. www.discogs.com/artist/389175-Barry-Diament
Samples from this album can be heard here : www.soundkeeperrecordings.com/format.htm although in my experience the Format Comparison page does not do them justice. If 16/44.1 is your preferred format, then you can also listen to a sample at this resolution. PLEASE no arguments or discussions about the merits of 24/192 and DSD vs. Redbook CD at 16/44.1 Alex Barry Diament's Studio

Kay Sa is no exception. It is described as Haitian jazz and for artists Markus Schwartz & Lakou Brooklyn it is the follow-up album of Equinox, Stereophile’s ‘Recording of the Month’ in February 2011. If Haitian jazz is not your cup of tea then there is a description of the various other recordings here at this review article soundkeeper-recordings-a-completely-different-way-of-capturing-musicThe nice thing is that you can forget about the technical details and just be spellbound by the sound and the music. I am not a big fan of jazz on a HiFi system (although on my current system that is changing). Historically, I found jazz far more accessible when heard live. I was lucky enough to wander into a little jazz club in Budapest about 3 years ago. I went in to have a 'quick listen' and stayed for over 3 hours! There is something mesmerizing for me about live music and Barry's recordings capture that quality.
