Some of you know this & some don't - Dave Ayers (@daudio or @look&listen on various fora) was one of the main instigators behind this forum (I think David, @audiophile Neuroscience will agree?) From my few interactions with him over the years, he was interested in breaking away from the too often encountered objectivist Vs subjectivist silo warfare & desired a discussion area where the topics represented here such as music & perception could be discussed in a sharing, learning, non-confrontational discussion area.
I only found out from David last week that Dave Ayers passed away & it's a shame that he didn't live to see the fruits of his labours.
Let's hope this forum turns out to be a suitable testament to his goals?

He was a good online friend and we communicated over several years on audio forum, PMs and private emails. On forum Dave as @daudio and @look & Listen and myself as @audiophile neuroscience. Dave was indeed a principal instigator of this discussion board and we communicated about what form it should take even when he was in the later stages of his illness. This forum is dedicated to his memory and his passion for music and it's perception. Dave had an untiring devotion to the higher ideals of a more socially friendly place where people could share the fun of their hobby, discipline of their craft and the joy of music. David

I posted about Dave's passing in IN Memoriam in Audiophile Style , but it appears that very few members even look at that area.
