Alex, I am VERY sure that their definition of better is not even close to mine. The problem is sorting "different". I think the term "massively" is bogus from the get go. I think that many of these people NEED "massive" to justify their self worth. The truth of the matter is that the musical differences are very subtle - if at all present and the audio systems and ears needed to qualitatively sort "different" are few and far between. Yes, they do exist - but I do question those that spend more time electrically than acoustically.
The original intent of this thread was to determine musical things that not only touch the ears, but also the skin nerves (but not through slam or "pressure"). In the mean time I have been to other concerts - in the audience and am starting to be able to quantify the sensation.
I am 1000% convinced that it has ZERO to do with any hardware and especially little to do with any computer tweeks. I am not denying that better power supplies and shielding can help technically, but what I am missing here is the perception part. That disappoints me. Now that this thread has been turned into something that has corrupted the original musical intent (maybe no one here has anything to say on the subject of tactile perception?), I am out. I will have to think about whether or not I post anything about perception here any more if the answers have nothing to do with perception. I really am not in search of computer tweeks rather going deeper into the music and perception of playback. I have geometry solved (at least for my living room), I have frequency response, phase, dynamics and tone solved and to be honest, have nothing that I define as "wrong" where I am looking for a solution (except for perhaps infrabass between 16 and 32 Hz - but that with no priority).
